I’ve had a pretty crazy last two weeks that I need to fill you in on.
I may or may not have had a small crush on my ceramics professor. He’s cute, works out 5 days a week, probably 35ish and had the funniest personality. I would pretend I didn’t know what I was doing on the wheel and purposely knock my clay off center just so he would stand behind me and wrap his hands around mine. Hahaha
He CALLED ME OUT about that during our final critique! He was like “I specifically remember you being one of the first students to learn how to center their clay. But it’s funny how fast you could un-center it as well.”
Ceramics turned out to be a really cool experience and made a lot of friends in that class. I even came out to one of the girls I met in that class and she was super cool with it. The day after I came out to her the two of us were in the glazing room trying to glaze our projects and she goes “this is such a pain in the ass”… pauses for a second, smiles at me and winks. She gay joked me but it was pretty funny in the moment.
Here are some pictures of my two Lithography projects:
I went to a gay bar on Friday for the second time in my life! It turned out to be a total bust. The bar charged a $5 entrance fee, the drinks were wayyyy to expensive ($6.75 for my cap’t n coke) and there were maybe 25 people in the bar, if that. My friend and I left after about an hour and bar hopped to other bars which were so much more fun.
And the reason I haven’t been blogging lately is because I moved last week. Our moving day also happened to be the last day of Summer A classes so it’s been hectic. Our new apartment didn't have internet hooked up so I was forced to drive to Starbucks and use their WiFi.
Luckily I got a 5 day break before Summer B classes starting. Now I’m taking Figure Drawing I and Art History II. I’m as excited for this history class as I would be watching the grass grow. My figure drawing class on the other hand is going to be way better. For one, there is a gorgeous guy with dreads in my class that I hope to befriend before the semester is over. And the second reason being that we get to draw naked models. It gets better. My professor wasn’t able to find any female models so both of our models are men. One of the models is a yoga instructor so I have my fingers crossed that he’s really cute.
And lastly…drumroll please…
I bought my website domain name! I still have so much to do like figure out the web hosting, find a website template, learn to navigate it and set up Paypal but baby steps for now. I’ll release the website onto my blog when it is fully and officially up and running. Ahh I can’t wait.
I may or may not have had a small crush on my ceramics professor.
ReplyDeleteAre you really not sure? Or just aren't sure you want to fully admit it? ;)
Once upon a time, I was totally crushing on a barista who did pottery as one of his hobbies. His boss (who figured out I was crushing) made a point of telling me said barista had his own pottery wheel. I swear the guy told me that just to give me mental images of reenacting the one scene from "Ghost."
Gay bars can be hit or miss, as they can be so different from one another. And yeah, $6.25 is expensive for a captain and coke. I think the most I've ever paid is $4.25.
Good luck with your Summer B classes! And try not to drool (too much) while drawing the models. ;)
This is awesome! I was wondering what's been going on since it has been a while since you posted. Glad your Summer A classes finished on a good note, and that you're all moved in! I hope you befriend that guy and get to hang out with him some (and that he's a nice guy and not a total bust)!

ReplyDeleteYour lithographs look really cool!!
ReplyDeleteI think Art History was the most boring class I took in college. You'll like it so much better when it's in the past.
ReplyDeleteI liked art history! But then, I'm weird. I did a double in Econ and American Lit after dropping out of Civil Engineering. I took medieval art history and was at severe disadvantage being raised Buddhist with immigrant parents. "this is obviously a depiction of doubting Thomas," she says. Who the fuck is that?!
DeleteThese graphs are really cool
